Celebrations all over with waves in the air sounding “300 saal guru de naal” – 300 years with the guru.
It all comes from October 1708 Shri Hazur Sahib, Nanded, Maharashtra where our Tenth Guru – Guru Gobing Singh Ji spend his last days fighting mughals “Aurangzeb” and died as was attcked by some of his own men, this is as per as some historians say.
Before heading towards heaven, He made the holy book “Guru Granth Sahib” as the future leader and the followers to follow it’s teachings.
So, observing the 300th anniversary of ”Gurta Gaddi” – consecration of Guru Granth Sahib Ji and remembring the guru on 300th death anniversary “Parlokgaman” - Jouney of Guru to Heaven, celebrations took place all over with “Nagar Kirtan” and “Guru ka Langar”.
I also joined “Nagar Kirtan” in delhi, and it was again ”a moment of proud” to be a Sikh. This also made memories flash, reviving the times when i joined the Nagar Kirtan at Kanpur.
