SolutionCenter.msi installer package pop up

This is one of the common and known issue that comes over on one or the other computers which had installation of hp printer software a number of times and rarely disturbs new hp connections.

The error message comes up with the following message :

‘The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable’

SolutionCenterMsi

The above picture is just an example for the same pop up but for another package. It can be a solutioncenter.msi, hpproductassistant.msi, status.msi, trayapp.msi or any other pop up asking for msi installation package.

Follow the simple steps to give a permanent solution, though there are other solutions in which you locate the *.msi file in the setup folder on software package/CD. The other way is to use windows installer cleanup utility, but the best solution is here.

  1. Open registry editor.
  2. Browse to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Installer\Products
  3. Under this you will see a long list of keys with alphanumeric names. Locate the key with the product name as “solution center” and delete it.

After deleting this entry it will be a hassle free experience for you.
