Hp printer usb install gets stuck at step 7/8

Troubleshooting hp printers for a long time and this is one of the issues that comes over usually, which is not printer’s defect but a minor issue of permissions for “plug and play” on your computer. I have been trying this for a long time and has been a sure shot solution.
Follow simple steps to get it installed :
- Open Task Manager and end the processes hpzdui.exe and hpzsetup.exe.
- Open registry editor. Go to run, type “regedit” and hit enter to get it explored.
- Now browse to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\PnP .
- Make a right click on PnP and then click on permissions option to open the permissions window for ‘plug-n-play’.
- Now select each user and give full control to them, then add a user “Everyone” and give full control to it too.
- Restart computer and restart the usual installation.
Spot on! Works like a charm! Thanks!
PS. why on EARTH can’t HP fix THIS???
@Ton yes it works like a charm
Thanks, it worked for me but then i got another different error later on. Im really sick of this device, every time i try to install it i get nothing but headaches, hours spent to install this god damn printer. What is even more annoying is that i have owned this device for a few years now and, like Gurpreet said, HP doesnt seem to be able to fix these issues. HP products NEVER EVER AGAIN, im really SICK of them.
I gave it a try, but it didn’t work for me. The irony is that I’m trying to install it on a HP notebook (with Windows XP)… I also uninstalled previous HP software, stopped / killed background processes, disabled anti-virus (AVG)… I guess it’s time to give up. 😦
I enjoy reading an article that can make men and women think.
Also, thank you for allowing me to comment!
